The 40-year veteran was the driving force behind North America’s premier medical equipment planning consultancy, helped define the industry
YARDLEY, PA — 12 NOVEMBER 2024 — Healthcare Building Solutions, LLC (HBS) has announced that Debbie Cameron RN, BSN will retire at the end of this year. Cameron, a four-decade veteran of the healthcare industry, helped define what has become an essential and increasingly complex component of healthcare design, delivery, and operations. Cameron was a co-founding principal of OneEQ, a technology, medical planning, and operational consultancy acquired by HBS in 2023.
“Debbie is one of those professionals who shaped our industry,” says Jay Hornung ACHE, CHFM, President and CEO of HBS. “Her intellect, pragmatism and drive helped us identify, define and master a service expertise that has become absolutely essential to how medical services are deployed today.”
OneEQ traces its roots to the late 1990’s as the in-house subsidiary of the global architecture practice RTKL. As medical and research facilities grew more reliant on technology and digital infrastructure, Cameron saw an opportunity to focus on the growing complexity (and expense) of medical equipment as a way of boosting operational efficiency and increasing positive outcomes.
“My focus has always been building the OneEQ family and our clients,” says Cameron. “Now that OneEQ has transitioned into HBS with a solid continuum of service and leadership, I feel like I’m stepping away at the ideal time. I enjoyed every minute of this journey, and the many opportunities afforded to me.”
Cameron has also mentored at least two generations of industry leaders, leaving in place a proven team of professionals who have helped ease the transition.
"We're incredibly grateful for Debbie's contributions and wish her the very best.”, says Hornung, “We've been preparing for this transition, and our exceptional leadership team is ready to drive us forward."
Cameron, who lives in Dallas, TX, will be spending more time with her family and as little time as possible on email and in airports.
